Treize

Today is my son's Birthday, and that is what matters most.
I can't be with him or call him in the am so I posted on Facebook.
As any child does, Sam changed my life, and I always tell him he saved my life. Jim saved me first and then Sam and then Erin completed the rescue. Why, Jim is obvious, but Sam, if he hadn't come when he did I would have taken the nose to the grindstone academic job, I wouldn't have made time to be a mother, I would have been AMA( advanced maternal age) as they say, and seeking IVF pregnancy. I totally admire women who meet this challenge. Sam spared me that and showed me the tremendous reward of parenting. Erin is for another day, because today is Sam's.

We went to the Louvre, it was raining. We didn't get an early start, but only waited 1 hr in line, inside at the Carousel de Louvre, the under ground "mall", but out of  the foul weather. We split up. Mom waited at the tabac to get entry tickets to gain access to the shorter line. Nonetheless, I got through the standard faster. After through security, we still had tickets to buy, but that was very quick, and Erin <18 free.  We had fun using Rick's tour guide. Got started about noonish and took a 4 pm snack break and did a quick Assyrian tour and then through scupluture as you wish and out to the Jane Fonda statue at 6 planning to make it home for the 7 pm skype for Sam's 18th!

Sam called at this time and wanted to delay till 8 Paris time, but I couldn't get mom and Erin to go back in the Louvre. We walked home, a success since we had discussed metro, but it is so short and it was light and Sam was behind. I made a new route to keep it interesting, but ended up on Rue Faubourg-St Honore, and in the art store across from The Bristol, a very tony hotel. It sort of looked like impressionist from the outside, but inside not quite so. Se had a lovely chat with the owner, but then the clock was ticking and had a quickened exit to make the skype. We had learned of a new market  for Sunday from Janet in the gallery. She is a native of CT but came here >40 yrs ago and now runs this gallery.
Mom did the food shopping and E and I came to the flat.  She and Sam figured out the skype and we      were really very very super Happy.
Sam had gotten his drivers' permit today, and had a GREAT REPORT CARD, they both did.
Sam is working at the grocery store, Shaw's. I get a 15% discount!! WOW and he is moving up to the cash register tonight!!! WOW!!!
I need more details about the car venture. We have another skype this weekend.
