Today, Friday, we decided to go to the Marais district for an easy stroll. After my am blog, we ate and Erin and my mom mapped a route. However as we all went down the Rue Faubourg rather than catch the metro a C.E. and I was happy to get to walk!! Erin wants to get in more exercise, I thought, but after we reconnoitered we discovered that she wanted to catch the Metro at the next available stop which was Place Concorde. Off to Marais at Le Bastille Metro stop, near Opera Bastille, the new opera house for the general public. We followed Rick Steves route along rue St Antoine, and found many things, including those on the tour, and Place de Vosges, Victor Hugo's home, Hotel Sully lunch break, and Musee Carnavalet. The last was EXHAUSTING, if I can say so. Erin and I had to sit down and wait for Grandma to do the last leg alone. I kept saying, it's free, why kill myself.

Anywho, we all decide we were now ready for the macarons and du cafe we had wanted earlier, but too early, so as we exited into the Jewish quarter, this is for what we searched, to no avail. Lots of falafel, and baklava, and jewish delicacies, but we were craving espresso and macarons, the thought had been percolating in there since that am!! Finally we found le rue and un cafe et the best chocolat et macarons shoppe, DE chocolat NEUVILLE, 36 Rue Vielle du Temple 75004. We found a cafe for the espresso and cafe au lait et un half carafe du vin blanc, et du lat, et de quelques choses a manger, et apres ca, we went to the market, took the metro all the way home and Mom and Erin made dinner and I sat.
On the metro, it was quite entertaining. A young man jumped on one stop with a saxophone and speakers and started playing, at the next stop young men got on and started dancing and "lip syncing" to the sax??
Nonetheless we all enjoyed, he collected a round of pieces and exited to find a new train.
We decided we are too wiped out to do Louvre tomorrow. Maybe a movie, Woodie Allen's Midnight in Paris in in town in Anglais and maybe a mani/pedi. My feet are killing me.
