I had lunch with Suzanne, who is a visiting general surgery resident from Scotland. She is here with her family, a husband, and two girls and staying in the countryside, and 1.5 hr commute. She has the Scottish accent, and at lunch covered her head with a scarf. Despite being as fair as you would expect an Irish lass, she is of Egyptian descent. via her father, and her mother is Irish. We shared her pasta, and strawberries, and then bought coffee before returning. The afternoon was chest wall remodeling and the flap closure. I finished at 5 ish, but they had one more case to complete.
I found Mom and Erin who had walked around Ile de Cite, and gone to Orangerie. I met them outside and we enjoyed the view. We had arranged to meet the Rizutto's for dinner, and opted for Le Fumior at 8. It is a busy little spot just east of the Louvre, next a pretty church I have yet to know more about. On arriving I was unable to get a seat, but when Phil and Tracy arrived, Phil scored. "Table for 5, Rizutto, Hotel Regina?" Maitre D: "Oh M. I told him no space." and Phil said he just looked on, without a flinch, and he won a table for 5!!
We had a fun fun meal, recounting local Paris experiences, and kid stories, for which Erin was the monitor. Then after a meal, for me of veloute de lobster, et sea bass, I had a berries is yogurt ice cream et espresso, we all walked together along the rue Rivoli and parted at the place de Concorde.
We made it home for MN again! Ugh. Slept in till 9 am, with a phone call from the internet box man. My french on the telephone is not so good, so I ran down to the front door and carted up a big white box.
Today, our Paris greeter walk and maybe the MDT, it's nearby.
I haven't done any Rosetta Stone. What I am learning in there is not quite what I need here now. I think it is better at advance preparation, but since it is hard to reference the sections, it is hard to review what you wish to brush up on.
